On the 19th of October 2018 people all over the world were watching online an incredible sideways landing at Bristol Airport, when Storm Callum brought challenging high winds and stormy weather, made by a pilot that everyone assumed was a man. That pilot is actually Captain Brenda Riepsaame Wassink, a woman and a highly skilled pilot. Ever been in an airplane that’s landed sideways? Probably not given that it’s a very tricky manoeuvre to pull off. That didn’t stop Brenda, who was in charge of a TUI Boeing 757-200, to make an incredible dramatic landing at Bristol Airport, in the UK.
